Welcome to the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) department

Adult Learners

Bonjour! Salam! Ola! Ciao! Marhaba! Jambo! Guten Tag! Whatever your first language or wherever in the world you come from, we would love to welcome you to Milton Keynes College.

If you want to improve your English as a second language and get more skills to help you enter further study or employment, then Milton Keynes English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are an ideal choice for you.

We offer a range of English courses from Beginner to Level 2. The majority of courses are 9 or 12 hours per week, with 3 hour options in the evening. We will help you improve on your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, no matter what level of English you already have.

We also offer a Cambridge B2 First Certificate in English (FCE) course. This course will help you improve your spoken and written accuracy in English at an upper-intermediate level or ESOL level 1 in order to fully prepare you for the Cambridge B2 first exam. This course is 3 hour per week, with daytime and evening options available.

We also offer Maths classes, which are an excellent way for you to increase the amount of time you practice your English while improving another skill at the same time.

On top of this, you will also get the opportunity to use your English on trips during the year. Students have previously visited museums, historic landmarks, theme parks and personal development workshops. We also run student reading and conversation clubs to develop your skills further.

If you are interested in ESOL programmes, there are a number of flexible study options available to you. If you would like to talk to us about a course, please contact either Joanne Peacock or Julie Pope.
