Summer Showcase

Milton Keynes College shines a light on its brightest stars every summer with a spectacular showcase event in Middleton Hall at the centre:mk

Our annual summer showcase is an opportunity for collaboration between faculties across the college along with our external partners.  It’s an exciting showcase of the wide talent, skill and diversity existing throughout the college. A fully themed event along with a programme of events  take place throughout the four day event changing daily, including on stage performances, exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations.  All events are free of charge.

Stars of the Future took place in June 2016 at Middleton Hall and featured the full breadth of talent and ability from across the College’s campuses.

Central to the event was the main stage arena, which played host to a wide range of activities including musical and dramatic performances, live catwalk shows, competitions including Milton Keynes Barber of the Year and interactive cook-offs over the four day event.

In addition, Stars of the Future hosted the College’s annual Creative Arts exhibition plus a fully-working hair and beauty lounge which offered a range of free complimentary treatments.

MK College Principal and CEO, Dr Julie Mills, said the event had all the ingredients to be a great success.

“With such an array of exciting and engaging activities, there’s something for everyone who may be visiting centre:mk during the week with the talents and skills of the College’s learners at the heart of the event."
“By holding this kind of spectacular showcase, we’re able to really show off the hard work and dedication that takes place across the College and behind the scenes throughout the year from all those involved – students, teachers and our employer partners. It’s a genuinely exciting opportunity to share our stars with the community of Milton Keynes and show what they are capable of.”
