Milton Keynes College’s Brasserie restaurant is in the running to hold onto the title of College Restaurant of the Year as judged by the AA (Automobile Association).
Incredibly, the College has reached the final every year that the event has been staged and last year won the winner’s laurels after two runners-up placing.. Hospitality and Catering students at all levels gain valuable experience of the industry at the Brasserie which is on the Bletchley campus. Because it’s a commercial restaurant open to the public it gives them a taste of the discipline and quality needed to satisfy paying customers in the real world. It’s the third year running that the Brasserie has made it to the final three in this national competition, finally winning through after three runners-up placings.
Head of Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Hospitality and Motor Vehicle at the College, Maria Bowness, says, “We’re thrilled to be in the running for top spot again. Having won it once everyone is desperate to hold onto the title. It’s a real validation of the work done by staff and students both. The food is of excellent quality, beautifully presented and expertly served. Restaurant folk are a passionate lot and fully deserve this recognition for the service they give our customers.”
