Hospitality and Catering students received a master class from twice Michelin star winning chef, Adam Simmonds, in preparation to serve dishes from the menu of the Alpha Club MK, which is opening a new venue later this year.
This unique opportunity enabled students to work alongside Adam and learn from his experiences for two days, culminating with the fine dining VIP event at The Brasserie on 5th July. They prepared dishes from a menu created especially by Adam, who has collaborated with top chefs including Marco Pierre White, Raymond Blanc and Christophe Novelli.
The menu consisted of:
Mackerel tartare, oyster, cucumber, horseradish
Roasted rump of lamb, aubergine, black garlic, goats curd, basil pesto
Lemon parfit, fennel ice cream yuzu
The event offered a taste of what the new Alpha Club can offer to members in the form of the luxury private club’s restaurant.
The Brasserie hosted the event in partnership with the Alpha Club, offering the students vital experience in catering for a VIP dining experience.
Jane Horridge, director for corporate and strategic external affairs at MK College, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and staff to work alongside a Michelin starred chef, in our own kitchens. It’s the start of a close new relationship with Alpha Club which will bring many such possibilities for them to learn from the best. Along the way they can get to meet club members who will see them at work and may even be future employers.”
