During this period applications via UCAS are open and can be submitted online. It is important that you spend time on your application and personal statement to secure your first choice.

15th January 2018: Get your application in

Applications can be made through UCAS during this time. For 2018 entry, the UCAS deadline for the majority of undergraduate courses is 15th January 2018.
Applications for Student Finance also open in January and it is important that you submit your application for any loans or grants as soon as possible. There is
no need to wait until you receive offers as this could delay you getting your loan. For more information on Student Finance visit www.gov.uk/studentfinance.

January - Mid May: Secure your offers

During this time, colleges and universities will make decisions and offers to applicants. Once all of your offers have been received, you will need to select
one as your Firm Offer and a second as your Insurance Offer. Make sure you respond to your offers in time or they may be cancelled! If you receive no offers from your original 5 choices, UCAS Extra offers another chance for your to gain a university level place and is open for applications between 25th February and 4th July 2018.

July - August: Results are out

If you studied a BTEC qualification, results will start to be sent out from mid-July and A Level results will be released on 16th August 2018. If you get the grades you required for your Firm Offer then there is nothing you need to do as your place is secured. If you don’t get the grades you required, don’t hold any offers or have changed your mind then you can apply for available places through Clearing.
