What will I do?

Throughout this course you will come to understand the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training. You will learn how to use inclusive teaching and learning approaches, and understand the principles and practices of assessment in education and training.

At the end of the course, you will have a meeting with your course tutor who will advise you of the appropriate route for progression. The course provides an excellent starting point for a career in teaching in Further Education.

To take this course you need to:

  • Have achieved or be aiming to achieve a qualification in the subject you teach or hope to teach
  • Be over 19 years of age
  • Have experience in your subject/ skill at the appropriate level (expected L3)
  • Have the ability to read and interpret written tasks, and write clearly and coherently*
  • To provide evidence of an English qualification to Level 1 or above.

*An initial assessment of skills in English, mathematics and ICT will be required
