What will I do?
From learning basic survival skills, to understanding the cause and control of war and conflict, to drilling and marching, no two days will be the same. You will learn more about yourself through hard work and dedication and prepare for entry in your chosen career. All of our tutors are highly-experienced in their respective fields and have vast industry links. You will undertake work experience as part of your course, this will be relevant to your chosen speciality within the public services. In addition, you will learn how to successfully work as a part of team in different leadership roles. Where possible trips will support learning, putting what you’ve learnt in the classroom out in the field. This can lead to a range of careers including the Armed Forces and uniformed services, or you could progress to university to study at a higher level.
You will study how government and policies affect the work of the Uniformed Public Services and how crime affects society and understand the impact of war, conflict and terrorism. You will develop your leadership skills and learn how to successfully work as part of a team in different leadership roles.
In the second year you will study how the Uniformed Public Services responding to emergency incidents and explore the management of emergency planning. You get the opportunity to research case studies for example Grenfell Tower and Buncefield Depot Fire. You will study physical preparation (fitness training and test) and learn about custodial care.
