What will I do?

This course consists of six units, including:

Through these units you will learn to:

  • Develop the skills needed to work in HR
  • Gain an introduction to the work of the HR department
  • Assess the HR function’s contribution to achieving organisational goals
  • Prepare and conduct face-to-face interviews
  • Use assessment and evaluation techniques
  • Recognise the practical relevance of your organisation’s policies and procedures.
  • Give construction feedback
  • Provide an awareness of the context of HR functions and key issues that impact on employee issues
  • Be confident in all areas vital to effective and efficient recruitment and selection
  • Create policies and guidance that are compliant with the legal framework
  • Improve the performance of the team and encourage development using effective performance review processes.

You will need to become a member of the CIPD at a cost of approximately £160. This cost is not included in the course fees.

There are four assignments to complete during the course. These include an assessed project, self-study materials and maintaining a personal development portfolio.

This course may be part-funded by the Advanced Learner Loan but this is capped at £1265.
