Business HNC

  • STUDY MODE Part-Time

What will I do?

You can expect to cover a wide range of business-related topics, branching out to other areas of the sector giving you an insight into possible career pathways with transferable skills. On the second year of this course you can choose to specify in either marketing, accounting or HR, focusing on skills specific to that discipline. Regardless of your pathway, you will develop well-rounded knowledge and understanding of the business industry, business law, human resources management, operations, and managing a successful business project. You will also be able to choose your final unit, giving you the chance to further explore what you’re passionate about. All of the tutors have vast industry experience and a wealth of industry contacts ready for you to take advantage of.

What's next?

Our HNC qualification will provide you with the skills you need for a junior management role, such as a general manager, a digital marketing executive or an HR officer. That said, upon successfully completing our HNC course, the next logical step is our Level 5 HND Diploma (being launched in 2020). Our HND pathway will allow you to continue on your chosen specialism (Accounting, HRM or Marketing), and will be delivered with a blend of face-to-face and online learning.

Just as on the HNC, you will then be given the opportunity to progress into more specialist pathways, including our Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Human Resource Management) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants professional pathways. A successful HND qualification will also equip you for a middle management role, perhaps leading a small to medium sized team in a large corporation or SME.

Milton Keynes College also works with a range of local and national business partners to provide exciting placement and progression opportunities, including Dentons solicitors, the Home Retail Group, Xero Accounting and Grant Thornton accountants, and the list grows each year.
