Technical ability and a problem-solving approach are a must as is an interest in working in the Computing industry. The course is delivered in blocks with software skills, web, graphics and technical units all delivered as part of the Study Programme. Work Experience, skills for success, English and Maths will also be core elements of the Study Programme.

What will I do?

Level highlights

  • Flexible study programme allowing for varying skill levels in the subjects offered with the overall level and certificate awarded based on the level attained in the majority of the subjects covered
  • Relevant enrichment including talks, live project briefs, visits and trips will be part of the study programme

What's next?

The Study Programme is designed to give a broad base of knowledge to allow progression to level 3 or Apprenticeships.

Is it for me?

You should have an understanding of how the entire creation and worldwide usage of the internet has affected the economy, and pretty much every active business today. You must be a logical thinker to succeed in IT, be technically minded, and be great at problem solving. You must be able to think on your feet, and be able to think outside of the box. If you want a career with wide progression options, the ability to further your learning and expand your knowledge in a variety of areas, a course in computing is a great place to start.

Level 1: You need to have achieved your Entry 3 in English or Maths or provide clear evidence that you are working at Level 1 in English and Maths.

Level 2: You require a D/3 or above in English & Maths plus evidence that you are working at Level 2.
