Students who complete the Routing and Switching Essentials course will be able to perform the following functions:

Explain how switching operates in a small to medium-sized business network.
Configure Ethernet switch ports.
Use monitoring tools and network management protocols to troubleshoot data networks.
Configure monitoring tools available for small to medium-sized business networks.
Configure initial settings on a network device.
You can progress to the CCNA Module 3: Scaling Networks. If learners end their studies here, they can enter themselves for the ICND1 (Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician) qualification.

CCNA Routing and Switching Essentials extends on the Introduction to Networks unit. The unit covers the fundamentals of routing and switching data, the use of network monitoring tools, and switching and routing protocols.
