What will I do?

Your photography course will help you to develop your technical and creative skills, whilst also focusing on your future career. You will learn to use professional digital media suites and software, work on real live projects, enjoy guest speakers and industry workshops. You can expect to work predominantly in our industry standard photography studio, getting to grips with new and advanced lighting and studio equipment. In short, you’ll have everything you need to kick start your career. You will have access to all College equipment, including the studio, lighting equipment and expert advice from industry experienced teachers.

At level 2 you will study Digital Arts, which will offer you an introduction into digital image creation through the fields of illustration, graphics, video, animation and photography. On successful completion of the level 2 you can then move on to study either photography or graphic design at Level 3.

What's next?

As part of your course, you’ll work on live briefs and undertake work experience. This will not only help you build industry contacts but also enhance your portfolio of work, which will be crucial to show off your skill set to future employers or clients. You could start out as a photography assistant and gain experience in the workplace, or continue at College on the HNC or HND Photography course after your Level 3 qualification.

This course focuses on art in the digital age, and combines traditional art and design skills with design technologies and software.   • 4 GCSEs, 2 at grade E/2 or above and a further 2 at grade D/3 or above including Graphic Design or Media Art.
