Our Advanced Photography course will introduce you to the exciting variety of Digital Arts materials, techniques and new technology applications; plus an insight into the different roles the industry offers.

UAL Level 3 Applied General Diploma and Extended Diploma in Art & Design (Photography)

What will I do

Your Photography course will help you to develop your technical and creative skills, whilst also focusing on your future career. You will learn to use professional digital media suites and software; work on real live projects; enjoy guest speakers and industry workshops; and have the chance to exhibit your work the end of the year Summer Showcase.

In short, you’ll have everything you need to kickstart your career. Throughout your photography course, you will have access to all College equipment, including the studio, lighting equipment and expert advice from industry experienced teachers.

What’s next?

As part of your photography course, you’ll work on live briefs and undertake work experience. This will not only help you build industry contacts but also enhance your portfolio of work, which will be crucial to show off your skill set to future employers or clients.

You could start out as a Photography Assistant and gain experience in the workplace.

Is it for me?

Are you passionate about Photography? Do you know what makes a good photograph? Can you effectively use the exposure triangle to work the manual settings on your camera for the best possible image? Can you tell when an image is too heavily edited? If you’ve got a knack for finding the right angle and highlighting the beautiful in the ordinary, a career in photography can offer you a diverse and fulfilling career. With opportunities ranging from self-employment to travelling all over the world, you must be dedicated to the profession to succeed, and be willing to learn at every opportunity.

Self-expression and practicality are key to a photography course so you must be able to commit your time and energy to big independent projects and be able to conduct research and photoshoots independently.
