What will I do?

There are six units, each with an exam. Each unit it taught over 5/6 weeks with a computerised exam at the end. The mandatory units are:

Financial Statement for Limited Companies
Management Accounting – Budgeting
Management Accounting – Decisions and Control
Accounting Systems and Control (Synoptic)

The optional units are:
Business Tax
Credit Management
There may be an option to study individual units if you have not sat them before.

This course is perfect for anyone who has achieved AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting with a merit or distinction and wants to continue their studies towards becoming an accounting professional. Get the skills you need to become a financial team leader or set up your own practice with our Professional Diploma in Accounting. You’ll cover statements for limited companies and complex management accounting tasks and you can really hone your skills with optional specialist units including business tax and credit management. Once you’ve passed, you’ll automatically become an AAT affiliate member, and if you have relevant work experience you can qualify for AAT full professional membership.

You will be in college on Thursday from 9.15 to 4pm. In addition you will need to study 8 hours or more a week. You will receive a continuous review of your progress in each lesson.

You need to have achieved the level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting with a merit or distinction.

In addition to the course costs you are required to purchase books for each unit which will cost approximately £100 – £200 in total. You will need to pay AAT membership. There is an annual membership fee of £99 (2019/20) which needs to be paid at the start of the course. The course fee includes the first exam fee for each unit. If you are required to resit an exam, a resit fee will be charged. There is a limit of two resits allowed per unit.
