What will I do?

There are five units, each with an exam. Each unit it taught over 5/6 weeks with a computerised exam at the end. The units are:

Advanced Bookkeeping
Final Account Preparation
Management Accounting – Costing
Indirect Tax
Ethics and Spreadsheets (Synoptic)

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom. You will attend classes for three hours every Tuesday and work through online materials on for approximately four hours a week.

Many students progress to the level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting other students progress within their finance role.

You need to have passed the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting averaging a merit on four of the five units (excluding the Using Accounting Software unit).

You will be in college on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9.00pm. On Thursday evenings you are not required to attend college but will be set work on our online platform Mindful. In addition you are required to study 6-8 hours a week.

You will need to pay AAT membership. There is an annual membership fee of £99 (2019/20) which needs to be paid at the start of the course.

The course fee includes the first exam fee for each unit. If you are required to resit an exam, a resit fee will be charged. There is a limit of two resits allowed per unit.

We have partnered with Mindful Education to deliver this course through our Online and On Campus model.

Online video lectures are available on demand, and can be viewed from your phone, tablet or computer, meaning you can choose how, when and where you want to study. Each lesson lasts around 45 minutes and is accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life. Exercises, interactive case studies and analytical tools help to enhance the learning experience further.

On campus, you benefit from regular college classes – without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each week. Experienced tutors will discuss and reinforce what you have learnt during your online study and are on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Discussion and debate with classmates will help you apply theories to situations you face in the workplace.
