What will I do?

There are five units, each with an exam. Each unit it taught over 5/6 weeks with a computerised exam at the end. The units are:

  • Bookkeeping Transaction
    Bookkeeping Controls
    Elements of Costing
    Working Effectively in Finance
    Using Accounting Software
  • There may be an option to study just the first two units and achieve the Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

    You will be in college on Tuesday evening 5.30pm to 9.00pm. In addition you will be in college approximately two Thursdays every six weeks for the mock exams and the exams. In addition you will need to study between 4-6 hours a week.

    There are no formal qualifications required, however, you need to be working at Level 1 in English and maths.

    In addition to the course costs you are required to purchase books for each unit which will cost approximately £100 in total. You will need to pay AAT membership. There is a one off membership of £44 (2019) and annual membership of £94 which need to be paid at the start of the course. The course fee includes the first exam fee for each unit. If you are required to resit an exam, a resit fee will be charged. There is a limit of two resits allowed per unit.
