What does this course cover?

You will study two modules – both externally assessed by online exams.  Bookkeeping Transactions covering: understanding financial transactions within bookkeeping; processing both customer and supplier transactions; processing receipts and payments; processing transactions through the ledgers to the trial balance  Bookkeeping Controls covering: payment methods: Understanding and using controls; using the journal; reconciling a bank statement with the cash book

What can I do after this course?

You may be able to progress your career in bookkeeping.  This course does not progress to level 3 however, you may be able to complete the three modules required to complete the full level 2 in the next academic year

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required to undertake this course. However, you must have a good understanding of the English language and excellent numerical skills to Level 1. Applications from students without formal qualifications are welcome.

Course detail

How much will I have to study each week?

You will be required to be in class for approximately three hours a week. You will need to study around 2-3 ours a week and more before the exams.

Do I need to purchase anything?

You will need to pay the one off AAT membership of £44. Text books are a compulsory purchase. You will need to purchase books for the two units which will cost around £50.  Assessment costs are included in the course fees the first time you take each unit assessment. A resit of a unit will cost £50.

How will I be assessed?

There are two assessment points through the course which coincides with your learning. Assessments are computerised and set externally by the AAT.

How will my progress be monitored?

You will complete progress tests throughout your course. Your tutors will be there to support you along the way, particularly as you approach an assessment date.
