What does this course cover?

You will study five units, bookkeeping controls, bookkeeping transactions, elements of costing, working effectively in finance, using accounting software.

You will be able to progress into your accounting career. You could seek a relevant accounting/finance apprenticeship, or progress onto the Level 3.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required to undertake this course. However, you must have a good understanding of the English language and excellent numerical skills to Level 1. Applications from students without formal qualifications are welcome.

Course detail

How much will I have to study each week?

You will be in class for 5.5 hours a week. You will need to study around 3-4 hours a week and more study time is needed before an exam. 

Do I need to purchase anything?

You will need to pay AAT membership fee of approximately £140. Text books are a compulsory purchase. You will need to purchase books for all modules which will cost around £100. Assessment costs are included in the course fees the first time you take each unit assessment. A resit of a unit will cost £50.

How will I be assessed?

There are several assessment points through the course which coincide with your learning. Assessments are computerised and set externally by AAT.

How will my progress be monitored?

You will complete progress tests throughout your course. Your tutors will be there to support you along the way, particularly as you approach an assessment date.
