IT apprentice wins 'employee of the month' award at Mirus IT Solutions
George Hudson joined Mirus IT as one of their IT apprentices in February 2017. Based in Milton Keynes, Mirus IT provide comprehensive IT support and telecommunications services across London, Milton Keynes and the South East. Since joining, George has worked extremely hard to put his new skills and knowledge into action and has proved to be a valuable member of their team. Due to his fantastic achievements, George was successfully named as Mirus IT employee of the month.
The Mirus IT employee of the month award recognises an individual who has demonstrated high performance at work. Recognition comes in the form of a gift voucher and bottle of champagne. George has received great feedback from his clients via the Mirus IT employee recognition system – CrewHu. George has progressed within his role to pass his Mimecast level 1 exam and now supports other team members at Mirus IT.
As an IT apprentice, George says “I like being able to learn on the job. Being able to start your career whilst still being in a learning environment really helps build your confidence and increases your knowledge.” He goes on to say “Working at Mirus IT is really great. It’s a professional but fun and friendly place to work as you’re always rewarded for your hard work.”
Lee Osborn, The HR and Recruitment Manager at Mirus IT, is delighted with how well George has settled in and made such a difference. “George has excelled in his Mirus IT journey thus far, exceeding expectations, embracing the Mirus IT culture and proving to be an asset to the company.”
Chris Maybray, The Service Delivery Director at Mirus IT commented, “George has exceeded all of our expectations and been a model apprentice in our business! Winning employee of the month and multiple gamification contests, he has set the benchmark for how good an apprentice can be! He also played a mean set of drums in the Mirus Rock Band this summer!”
The apprenticeship with Mirus IT has kick-started George’s career. With a bank of new knowledge and fully supported training from MK College, George explains how choosing an apprenticeship was one of the best decisions he made. “Apprenticeships are a great way to build your knowledge in a chosen industry. Not only this, but you’re getting paid to learn. If anyone is considering an apprenticeship, do it!”
