All of the finalists are customers of Wooden Hill Coffee Company, based in Ampthill in Bedfordshire. The final will take place at The Brasserie, and will see finalists be asked to make a cappuccino, a latte and an espresso in the first round. The top three baristas will then be asked to pick a menu card with four drinks on it. These drinks could be a combination of anything, including an extra hot latte, soya flat white, a skinny mocha, and lots more.
The barista that makes the four drinks to the highest standard in the best time will win the much coveted accolade of Wooden Hill’s Barista of the year.
Finalists will be judged on their ability to be a functional barista, time management, professional manner and presentation.
Aspiring barista’s from Milton Keynes College will also take part in the competition alongside the professionals, providing them with the chance to learn from the professionals, as well as demonstrate skills to future employers. This competition will be judged by Robin Sibly, the founder of Wooden Hill Coffee Company.
