FAQ’S

What will I do?

It depends on the course you register for but it will be a practical session – you’ll be joining a timetabled session with our current students. This will give you an excellent idea of what to expect if you decide to study with us.

What should I wear?

Again, that depends on the session! Make sure you give us your correct email address when you sign up for a taster session as you will be emailed all the information you need. If you don’t receive an email in your inbox once you’ve registered, please check your spam and junk folders.

For most of our courses, you can wear your own casual clothes but the following courses have different requirements. This is so that you can get the most out of the session and to keep you and others safe:

Barbering: if possible, all black clothing – no hats or coats during the session. Please bring a working mobile phone with a camera.
Beauty Therapy: if possible, all black clothing – black trousers, plain black top and flat black shoes (no trainers – school shoes and trousers are fine). No jewellery to be worn and hair to be tied back, if necessary.
Football: football boots (moulds not studs), shinpads, appropriate football training kit.
Hairdressing: if possible, all black clothing – no leggings, jeans, trainers, heels or open shoes.
Motor Vehicle: need to wear sturdy footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty – preferably overalls and safety shoes/boots.
Patisserie: wear flat, comfortable leather shoes not fabric and tie back hair, if necessary.
Professional Cookery: no nail varnish or jewellery to be worn and ensure hair is tied back, if necessary.

What should I bring with me?

You guessed it – it depends on what session you’ve registered for!

It’s always good to bring a pen, paper, water and snacks or money to buy something during break. If there’s anything else, we’ll let you know in the confirmation email.

Where do I go for my session?

The session will run from the campus where the courses are based – we will confirm this in the email but you can also have a look at this page to find out.

Do I need to let my school and parents know that I’ll be attending?

Yes – definitely. It’s a good idea to let your parent/carer and school know before you book – the sessions will take place during the school day so they will need to know so that they can authorise your absence.

If you need to prove that you’re attending a taster session with us, you can show that all-important confirmation email.
