Your next move
When it comes to finding work there is a lot to think about. Whether you want to gain new skills, use your existing ones or do something completely different, you are not on your own.
If you are over sixteen, serving a custodial sentence (with fewer than three years left to serve), completing a community sentence or were released from prison in the last three months, then we have the service for you. Job Deal is designed to help you into work.
What is Job Deal?
Job Deal is a voluntary service, co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the National Offender Management Service (NOMS). Milton Keynes College delivers Job Deal in the Thames Valley area offering free, expert one-to-one advice about jobs, training and learning opportunities and will support you in whatever choices you make.
Our experts can help you with job search, career planning and training courses. They’ll will advise you on everything from getting ID, managing your money and how to deal with disclosing your convictions. Job Deal works closely with local employers to make sure we are the first to hear of any vacancies in your area.
As well as employment help, if you need advice about housing, finance or childcare then your case manager will be there to help.
How will it work for me?
Job Deal is different for each person as it is tailored to meet individual needs. It is up to you to decide on the level of support you want and which back-to-work activities are right for you. You will get as much back as you put in.
Once enrolled onto the programme, you will be assigned a case manager who will stay with you throughout your time on Job Deal and who you will be expected to meet regularly.
For those serving a custodial sentence, this support will continue after release.
