Do you accept CVs?
Unfortunately, we only accept application forms as CVs do not provide us with all of the information we require.
Can I complete a generic application form to cover all vacancies?
We do not accept generic application forms for all roles. We require a separate application form for each vacancy for which you wish to apply.
How can I keep updated with new vacancies?
To make sure you find out about the latest vacancies, register your details with us to receive job alerts by email as new vacancies are advertised. Please state your job search criteria to suit your needs.
Do you offer part time vacancies?
There are a large number of part-time positions at the College. Details of the hours for every job are provided on the job description and advertisement.
It says fifty-two weeks on the job advert, does this mean I am not entitled to holidays?
Every position comes with generous holiday entitlement. Lecturing and management staff are entitled to thirty-eight days per annum and support staff are entitled to twenty-eight days per annum plus statutory bank holidays.
I have been working in a commercial environment and have no teaching experience Is this a problem?
The College already employs and positively welcomes people who have spent time working within commercial industries who do not have teaching experience. Clearly state your aspirations, skills and the experience you can bring to the role in the “Personal Statement” section of the application.
Does the College offer teacher training?
The College offers in-house teacher training and delivers the PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), CTTLS (Certificate in Teaching in The Lifelong Learning Sector), DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) and PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).
What other training is available for staff?
All staff receive a full induction and mandatory training in Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and the Disability Discrimination Act. Other optional training to support staff in their work is available across the College and at a departmental level to fully support you in your role.
Do you have a dress code?
Milton Keynes College operates a dress code. Staff need to ensure an appropriated and professional appearance is reflected at all times.

Milton Keynes College has been awarded the Two Ticks accreditation (awarded by Jobcentre Plus) for taking positive action to ensure disabled people are treated fairly and have access to the same opportunities as non-disabled people.

Are apprenticeships available?
Apprenticeships are on offer from the College and a number of previous successful apprentices have gone on to forge successful careers here.
Do you only have sites in Milton Keynes?
Our main campus sites are located in Milton Keynes however the College is one of the largest providers of Offender Learning in the country educating adults and young offenders within prison education departments across the South East, East Midlands and West Midlands. When do I get paid?
Staff are paid on the last working day of each month.

What’s it like working in prison education?
While this type of position can be very rewarding, teaching in a prison environment can be very challenging. Full training will be provided to successful applicants by the specific prison and the College education department.
