Counselling

Counselling can help you in ways other support doesn't. Here at Milton Keynes College we have a dedicated counselling team who are always ready to listen to your problems. Our two counsellors, Amy and Caroline provide free and confidential information, advice and guidance available to all of our students. We build relationships that provide you with the opportunity to explore, challenge and resolves any issues you may have. Sometimes it’s good just to talk and hear a supportive voice.

We support students with issues including:

  • Mental Health worries/issues - see our Mental Health page
  • Family relationships
  • Friend relationships
  • Loss of family stability
  • Difficulties with college life
  • Difficulties in personal life - see our Money Support page for financial support
  • Self-harm
  • Sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Suicide ideation
  • Drug abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Gender issues

We also support students in crisis. Sometimes students just need a one off slot that day to ‘off load’. Nothing is too big or too small for our counsellors.

If you want to access support from the counselling team, please talk to your tutor who can arrange your first meeting or contact the counselling team yourself.

The counselling team can always offer support, however, they will also refer you to other services if they feel that another service would be more beneficial.

Hear from our students

"Counselling has enabled me to become who I want to be".

"Without counselling I am not sure I would still be at college".

"Thank you for sticking by me".
