The New Buszy is the Business
03/08/2010
Thanks to a £500,000 investment from SITA Trust and V, the national youth volunteering charity, Make a Difference (MaD) volunteers finally opened the new Central MK Bus Station, The Buszy, last Friday (30th) to a packed audience, featuring DJs, breakdancers and some of our own students.
James Maynard and Luke Sturgiss were taken on by Make a Difference as part of the Future Job Scheme and have just completed NVQs in Customer Service Level 2 at the College. As part of their course, they were required to set up and run the Buszy shop that was opened as part of the event.
Taking part in the breakdancing spectacular was student, Courtney Knight. Employed for nine months by the MK Dons as part of the Future Job Scheme, he is undertaking a Business and Admin Level 2 course at the College. As well as showcasing his talents on the day, Courtney also volunteers as a dance teacher in association with the parish councils to provide breakdancing lessons in and around Milton Keynes.
All the students contributed time and hard work to making the event a success.
