Prince’s Trust take Local School to the Footie
11/12/2009
MK 38 Team member Emma Stenning said: "We all had a really fantastic time. This was my first ever live game and I loved every single part of it. The atmosphere was brilliant and from our seats we could see everything. The only downside was the score! It was so nice of the MK Dons to give us and the learners from Orchard School the opportunity."
Team 38 is delivered in Buckinghamshire on behalf of Prince's Trust by Milton Keynes College and enables young people aged 16-25 to take part in a wide range of activities, such as community projects, work experience and a residential week that includes a range of outward bound activities including canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling.
The MK Dons are one of over 60 football clubs across the country that support the Prince's Trust Football Initiative, which aims to use the motivational appeal of football and the practical assistance of clubs to help young people on Prince's Trust programmes. Prince's Trust helps young people to change their lives through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance.
The Dons have supported Prince's Trust for several years with young people on the Team programme attending matches, receiving signed merchandise for fundraising activities and taking part in team work and coaching sessions with our Football in the Community staff. Team is a free 12-week programme of personal development training which helps team members to gain new skills, improve their confidence and earn some national qualifications, whilst having fun and meeting new friends.
