Apprenticeship Week Brings Launch of Innovative Social Media Campaign

07/02/2012

Apprenticeship Week brings launch of Innovative Social Media Campaign to find aspiring Formula One Egineers to work in Milton Keynes

City based Red Bull Technology has announced its involvement in an exciting new three year apprenticeship scheme, which will run in conjunction with Milton Keynes College and TXM Recruit.

The world renowned company will work with 10 trainee engineers who will be involved at the forefront of engineering at the Red Bull Technology headquarters in Tilbrook.
And in line with Red Bull Technology's high-tech image, the recruitment process to find the next generation of Formula One engineers will be innovative - allowing young applicants to post YouTube videos of themselves and build up a fan base on Facebook and Twitter. The announcement comes as part of National Apprenticeship Week which runs from February 6 .

"We know young people now live in a digital world of social media and we wanted to give the applicants a chance to shine in the way they know best," explained Andrew Midgely, Business Development Director of TXM Recruit.

"Applications are already pouring in and we are getting comments from across the world. It's a really fun and exciting way to apply for the job because it gives the young people a chance to show off their personality and for family and friends to comment on why they are right for the job."

Combining study one day per week at Milton Keynes College's Innovation and Technology Centre the apprentices will study an Advanced Level 3 NVQ in Advanced Engineering to be completed over three years.

TXM Recruit, a specialist engineering recruitment company will be the employer of the trainees during their apprenticeship. They are running the application process via a dedicated website where people can apply, by searching "apprenticeship txm".

Gavin Cross, Head of Engineering at Milton KeynesCollege added: "We are delighted to be working with Red Bull Technology and TXM Recruit to train the next generation of Formula One engineers. Our facilities here are second to none and we look forward to welcoming the new recruits."

Said Andrew Midgley of TXM Recruit: "Of course, the selection process will be rigorous and also involve traditional practices such as reviewing CVs and applicants taking a series of practical tests followed by face-to-face interviews."

The closing date for applications is 23 February, with a selection process in March. The final 10 apprentices will enrol on 16th April.
