Hours: 300 delivery hours per year

Milton Keynes College is a leading Further Education College providing vocational, academic, professional and higher education courses across four Milton Keynes based campuses. The College also holds the contract to deliver the Offenders' Learning and Skills Service at various prisons and young offenders institutions.

An Exciting Opportunity
HMP & YOI Onley is a category C prison, with a maximum capacity of 700 males over 21 years of age. As part of Milton Keynes College's expansion in Offender Learning we require skilled professionals for various positions. We are looking for a talented individual to deliver learner success through effective teaching and delivery on our programmes. Occupational qualifications in construction, painting/decorating or motor mechanics would be beneficial, as would experience in delivering embedded Skills for Life.

As the successful candidate you will:

• Hold a Level 3 Motor Mechanics, Painting/Decorating or Construction qualification.
• Have proven relevant experience in delivering a range of vocational training qualifications, ideally from entry Level to Level 2.
• Ideally hold a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS).
• Ideally hold relevant assessor / verifier awards. (A1, V1, D32, D33).
• Have well developed interpersonal skills in relating to prison staff and in working with students who may have little experience of education and training.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative.
• Be sensitive to the complexities of prisons as closed institutions and have the ability to work positively within the inherent restraints.
