You are welcome to enclose your up-to date Curriculum Vitae (CV), but CV's will not be accepted on their own. Our preferred method of receiving applications is via our online form, however if you need to apply in an alternative format please e-mail recruitment@mkcollege.ac.uk for an application pack or call the recruitment line on 01908 684327 clearly stating which position you would like to apply for.

Please allow sufficient time for your application to reach us by sending your application back before the closing date. Applications received after the closing date will not normally be considered.

It is essential to make sure that you complete the personal statement part of the application form. This is the part of the application that allows you to really tell us why you're right for the job. It can often make the difference between getting an interview or not.

What happens next?

Once the closing date for applications has passed, the interviewing panel will produce a short-list of candidates to interview. This will be done using the criteria in the person specification.

If you are successful through to interview we will contact you via e-mail as soon as possible to tell you the time and date of your interview. (If applicants do not specify an e-mail address they will be contacted by post)

If you are selected for interview, we will contact you within four weeks of the closing date. Unfortunately due to the large number of applications received, we are unable to contact unsuccessful candidates. If you have not heard from us within four weeks, then on this occasion you have not been successful in progressing through to interview.

What about my interview?

Here are some simple tips that could really help you out if you are invited for interview. The more you feel prepared, the less nervous you will feel on the day.

  • Dress smart, be on time and be prepared - make sure you've read the job description so you can anticipate what you might be asked about. Have a quick read through the website as well, you're guaranteed to impress if you can show a bit of knowledge about MK College.
  • See the interview as a two way process, it's as much about you finding the right job with the right employer as it is about us finding a right match for the College.
  • Don't just ask questions because you feel you have to, ask questions because you really want to know more about working for the College.
  • Be prepared - if you've been asked to prepare a presentation or a teaching session, then run through it at home first. That way you can deliver it with style!
  • Finally, if at the end of the interview you want the job, then tell us! There's nothing better as an interviewer than having someone tell you that they really, really want the job.
