Positive about Disabled People - Two Ticks Employer
Since 1st April 2009, Milton Keynes College has held the Two Ticks accreditation. This is a recognition awarded by JobCentre Plus to employers who have agreed to make certain positive commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people.

Child Protection & Safeguarding
Milton Keynes College is committed to Safer Recruitment and to promoting the safety and welfare of young children, young people and vulnerable adults. All positions require a List 99 check, CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check and employer references. It is the responsibility of all staff to promote and safeguard our student's welfare, and all employees must demonstrate their suitability for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. All staff will be provided with Child Protection training and will be guided through our official Child Protection Policy.
To meet with our safeguarding obligations, Milton Keynes College requires all employees to be CRB checked. Should you be successful in being appointed, you will be asked to visit the HR Department at Bletchley to complete a CRB application form within five working days of receiving an offer of employment.
The Right to Work in the UK
The Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 makes it a criminal offence for an employer to employ anyone who does not have permission to live or work in the UK. Successful candidates will be asked to supply at least one original document from the following list, which verifies their right to work in the UK:
- A document issued by a previous employer, the Inland Revenue, the Benefits Agency, the Contributions Agency or the Employment Service, stating the individual’s national insurance number.
- A passport or national identity card identifying the individual as a British or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen, or having the right of abode in the UK.
- A birth certificate issued in the UK, the Irish Republic, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
- A letter from the Home Office indicating that the individual has permission to work in the UK.
- A work permit or other approval for employment issued by Work Permits UK.
Institute for Learning (IFL) Registration
Under 2007 regulations, newly qualified teachers will need to register with the Institute for Learning to become a Registered Teacher. If successful in starting a teaching position with Milton Keynes College, we can assist you in the application process and any further training that is required.
