Atrium Gallery

The Atrium Gallery is an established exhibition facility on the ground floor of the Bletchley campus, showing the work of former and current students, staff and invited artists from the region. There is almost 100 running feet of space for two-dimensional work, plus secure, glazed display cabinets for some small three-dimensional pieces.

A second public gallery was opened in September 2008 at the new University Centre Milton Keynes, 200 Silbury Boulevard, CMK. Its opening times are 08.00 - 21.00 and the gallery is located on the ground floor, next to the coffee shop, with additional exhibition space on the 1st floor.

Featured Exhibition

Georgeanne Scott - Elementaries

Georgeanne Scott - Elementaries

This exhibition centres around the theme of the Elements with four key figures representing Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These figures, for me, reflect nature in human form. I have had a long-standing fascination with nature and art forms which represent nature symbolically.

Each figure is depicted with symbolic decoration either made from natural materials or created from other sources around the piece as it develops. Other pieces in the exhibition are creatures each of which is strongly linked with one of the elements. There are also images of the Green Man, the Goddess and of Creation providing a suitable underpinning for the sculptures.

Past Student Exhibition - Chocolate Café

Last week, students from the BTEC 1st Diploma in Art & Design exhibited work they produced as part of a project to come up with ideas for the interior of a 'Chocolate Café'.

"The work demonstrates a real engagement in the subject, as well as an experimental and creative approach to using the materials," said Head of Art, Design, Media & Performing Arts, Adrian Pinckard. "You can almost taste the pictures just by looking at them! Fortunately, you don't gain any weight, though! The students obviously had great fun whilst learning about how to use a variety of materials and techniques. A wonderful example of creative-cross over of two of the six senses."
