ITQ (Information Technology Qualification)

The ITQ is the new national IT Qualification that can be studied in the workplace or at college. ITQ is for people who use a computer and need a qualification to prove their skills. If studied in the workplace assessors will visit learners as they build up an portfolio of work to achieve qualification. If studied in the college environment the learner will have taught structured lessons on a weekly basis. ITQ is flexible and can be tailored to meet individual or company requirements. |

Learners can take the employed route or a taught session in college.
The qualification is built up from a list of different competencies of using a computer. Typical examples are word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet and intranets, e-mail, or website software.
Assessment is by way of portfolio.
