Participant Profile & Programme Content

Those wishing to achieve a nationally recognised award that proves competence in Health & Social Care.   Staff who work in residential and domiciliary care with children aged 8 to 16 will particularly benefit from this programme.  This programme meets the national minimum requirements for the Care Standards Act 2000.

This programme comprises of 5 mandatory and 3 optional units.

 

The mandatory units are: Promote Effective Communication For and About Individuals, Promote Monitor and Maintain Health, Safety and Security in the Working Environment, Reflect on and Develop Your Work Practice, Promote Choice Wellbeing and the Protection of Adults (Adult Route), Promote the Wellbeing and Protection of Children and Young People (Childcare Route).


Candidates are provided with programme workbooks and 18 hours of assessment support
