This programme comprises of 4 modules covering the following topics: Understanding palliative care- identifying where people can receive palliative care services and what these services might be, Why palliative care may be needed and identify barriers that may exist to the provision of quality end-of-life care, Outline the support framework that exists for people with a life-limiting illness and their families Gold Standards Framework, Liverpool Care Pathway, Preferred Place of Care. Applying a ‘whole person’ approach to palliative care including meeting a person’s spiritual, religious and cultural needs. Supporting a person with their physical care needs. Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care. The learning approach is Distance Learning with tutorial support to complete assignments. Candidates are provided with text based workbooks. |
