Cleaning & Support Services NVQ Level 1

Programme Overview This qualification is designed for people who are working in the role of a cleaner in a variety of situations. No previous qualifications are required, however the candidate will be expected to demonstrate relevant practical skills as well as knowledge of their occupational area and be trained to a required level.
Delivery Approach The qualification will be achieved by demonstration of competence to a qualified assessor who will assess performance by a variety of methods. Evidence will be recorded via completion of a portfolio and a series of workbooks. This will allow flexibility of training and will be paced to the candidate’s needs and requirements

Participant Profile This qualification will be suitable for people employed in any environment who carry out a range of activities, for example dealing with cleaning on a day to day basis covering a variety of mediums. Demonstration of team work will be key to this qualification.
Programme Content The programme identifies a minimum standard of vocational competence required.  Three mandatory units must be completed covering maintenance of service delivery, health and safety and working as part of a team. A further three units must be completed which can be selected from a variety of topics relevant to their job role such as cleaning toilets, wash rooms and cleaning floors.
Length of Programme Up to 3 months flexible work based delivery
