Based at our top-of-the-range Innovation & Technology Centre, our construction courses cover a wide range of craft skills such as brickwork, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installation at Levels 1 and Level 2.

At Milton Keynes College, we have set up partnerships with local construction businesses to ensure our students receive the most comprehensive, up-to-date training available. Whilst learning the theoretical and practical knowledge required on a construction course, you will also develop a sound grounding in numeracy and literacy training. These important skills will help make you ready for either the work place or moving onto the next level of training.

As well as running Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 courses, we also run apprenticeship courses across all construction disciplines at levels 2 and 3, which are taught at College one day a week and can be completed over two or three years.

Please note, you will already need to have a job in industry that meets the requirements of the NVQ aspect of the trade to be accepted onto an apprenticeship programme.

The UK construction sector consists of over 250,000 firms and is an extremely diverse industry, composed of contractors, consultants, and building materials and product producers. With recognised qualifications, you may be able to work for one of these firms or after a few years’ experience, set up your own business.
