• Our College is one of the fastest growing in the UK, increasing turnover in the last ten years from £15m to c£60m (from August 2012).

• At our last full inspection in 2011 Ofsted said “The College and Governors are ambitious to improve the college and are focused appropriately on improving learners’ experience and success.”

• We are a lead provider in Offender Learning: from August 2012 we will have 30% of the national market share, delivering across 35 prisons with an annual contract value of £35m

• Our College has invested significantly and taken the lead role in the development and operations of the University Centre Milton Keynes (now known as Silbury campus). We were allocated our first directly funded Higher Education numbers in 2012 and will be continuing to grow HE in FE provision.

• With a population of over 20,000 students, we are the city’s largest provider of education, training and development.

• Since 2004, we have recorded a 20+ percentage point improvement in overall success rates.

• We make a significant economic contribution to Milton Keynes. An economic impact assessment showed that:

-       the College accounted for approximately £136.1m in added regional income

-       students enjoy a 19% annual return on their investment in time and money

-       for every £1 students invest in their time at the College, they receive a cumulative £4.70 in higher future earnings over the course of their careers

-       tax payers see a real return of 15% of their annual investments in the College.

• We work with over 3,000 16-18 year old full-time students equating to a 36% market share of the local cohort.

• We are the largest training provider for employers in Milton Keynes working with around 600 employers through a combination of apprenticeships, professional qualifications and commercial training. We have achieved the Training Quality Standard for outstanding employer engagement and are an accredited Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

• We provide Skills for Life qualifications to over 1,500 adult learners on campus, in local community learning centres and in the workplace.

• We deliver a broad range of employability programmes, engaging with over 1,700 students in the last year.

• Our vibrant College community is drawn from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds with 26% of full-time students being from black and minority groups.

• We have achieved the Investors in Diversity Standard, one of the first Colleges nationally and the first major employer in the City to do so.

• Over 1,000 staff work for the College, making us one of the largest employers in Milton Keynes; our expanded Offender Learning contracts will increase this number to over 2,000.

• We opened our state of the art Innovation & Technology Centre in 2011 representing a £6.3m investment in engineering and technology.

• The College is on a journey to develop business opportunities in the emerging Chinese market.
