Fees and Payments
Will I have to pay fees?
If you are aged 16 to 18 you don't have to pay any fees on most of our full and part-time courses.
Reduced fees for students in receipt of benefits
If you are studying on a course and can answer ‘yes' to the following questions you might be entitled to reduced fees:
Are you receiving one of the following benefits?
- Job Seekers Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance (receiving the work activity element)
- Housing benefit
- Income support
- Pension credit (guarantee credit only)
- Council Tax Benefit
- Working Tax Credit (household income under £15276)
AND
Are you unemployed?
AND
Are you enrolling on the course whilst actively searching for work and/or will use this course as prep for work in the future?
For most courses this means you would not need to pay the tuition element of the course, but please check when you enrol or enquire for full details as there are some exceptions. You will, however, have to pay any awarding body / assessment fees (unless you are on a first full level 2 course).
It is essential that you inform us if your entitlement changes at any time during your course, and for courses which run over two academic years you will be required to provide evidence of your continued benefit entitlement in the next academic year.
Reduced fees for students not in receipt of benefits
If you are aged 19 or over on 1st September and looking to enrol on an entry or level 1 and don't already hold qualifications at level 2 or above you could qualify for free tuition under the level 1 entitlement scheme.
You may be eligible for free tuition under the Level 1 Entitlement if you match all the following criteria:
- You are aged 19 or over
- You are a home fee payer
- You intend to commit to a full Level 2 qualification in the future
- You do not currently hold a full Level 2 qualification
This means you don't already have any of the following qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs Grade A - C
- 5 O Levels
- 2 AS Levels/ 1 A Level
- 5 CSEs Grade 1
- NVQ Level 2
- EDEXCEL or BTEC First Diploma
- OCR/RSA Diploma
- GNVQ Intermediate
- City & Guilds Part 2 qualification
If you are aged 19 or over on 1st September and looking to enrol on your first full level 2 qualification, you could qualify for free tuition under the level 2 entitlement scheme.
You may be eligible for free tuition under the Level 2 Entitlement if you match all the following criteria:
- You are aged 19 or over
- You are a UK national - that is, if born here, you have UK citizenship or a UK passport OR if you've been granted indefinite leave to remain or refugee status OR if you're from a European Union or European Economic Area country
- You commit to a full Level 2 qualification
- This is your first full Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
This means you don't already have any of the following qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs Grade A - C
- 5 O Levels
- 2 AS Levels/ 1 A Level
- 5 CSEs Grade 1
- NVQ Level 2
- EDEXCEL or BTEC First Diploma
- OCR/RSA Diploma
- GNVQ Intermediate
- City & Guilds Part 2 qualification
If you are aged 19 to 24 on 1st September and looking to enrol on your first full level 3 qualification, you may qualify for free tuition.
You may be eligible for free tuition under the Level 3 Entitlement if you match all the following criteria:
- You are an adult aged between 19 and 24
- You are a UK national - that is, if born here, you have UK citizenship or a UK passport
Or if you've been granted indefinite leave to remain or refugee status
Or if you're from a European Union or European Economic Area country
- You commit to a full level 3 qualification
- This is your first full level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
This means if you don't already have any of the following qualifications (to the level indicated) you can apply for a Level 3 course with free tuition:
- NVQs at Level 3
- 2 or more A Levels, including vocational A Levels
- one or more A Level double awards
- Access to HE certificate (regulated by QAA)
- OCR National Diplomas and Extended National Diplomas
- Edexcel National Certificates and National Diplomas
- BTEC National Certificates and National Diplomas
- Ordinary National Certificates or Diplomas (ONC/OND)
- International Baccalaureate.
- or higher level qualifications such as HNC/HND or degrees.

How to Pay for your College Course
You will not have to pay for your course until you enrol.
You can use:
o cash
o debit card
o cheque
o credit card - Delta, Electron, Maestro, Mastercard, Solo, Visa
Instalments
If your course starts in September and the fee payable is over £50 it may be possible to pay in instalments as below:
Fees due of at least £50 but less than £100 may be paid as follows:
£20 deposit is payable at your enrolment session and the balance paid in two equal instalments in the November and March of your first academic year.
Fees due of at least £100 or more may be paid as follows:
20% of the total fee is payable at your enrolment session with the balance paid in equal monthly instalments, taken out over the period of the course, up to a maximum of nine payments.
