Frequently Asked Questions

1. Am I eligible for reduced fees associated with my course?
Providing you meet the eligibility criteria detailed on the bursary application form, and the course you are doing is fully funded. You may be eligible for a tuition fee waiver plus additional support with other costs associated with the course.

2. If I'm not eligible for help through the bursary, what other financial help can I get?
If you are aged over 19 and studying for your first full level 1 or 2 qualification, or aged 19-24 and studying your first full level 3 qualifications, you may be entitled to have your tuition fee waivered. (Please check your course information to confirm whether your course has this offer attached to it). You may also be entitled to on going support through, C2L (for child care) or by taking out a professional career development loan.

3. Will I be able to get financial help with my exam fees?
No, unfortunately the bursary is unable to use any funds towards the cost of exams.

4. What help can I get with any trips I may need to go on with my course?
If you require financial help with any trips, you will need to apply to the 16 - 18 bursary, or the 19+ bursary. If you are eligible and as long as the trips are essential we will cover the full cost.

5. How do I find out more about C2L & PCDL?
In the first instance you can get verbal advice from any of our welfare specialists. Alternatively you can go to the section ‘other useful contact number and links'
